Went in for Sunday lunch. What a delightful place. Comfortable seating and marvellous views over the Solent. Staff very pleasant and attentative. Busy but service was quick. Food was excellent. Menu while not extensive was very good. Overall will definitely return due to staff, food, location and price.

Have been here a few times. Usually very good food and service but not tonight. We ordered crab pot but out came some flavoured rice in a dish. Couldnt detect any crab in the dish. Steak was really tough for main. Very disappointed however the reason for this poor review was the managers attitude. Tried to justify instead of apologetic. Then said to us if you werent happy dont pay and walked off. Really embarrassing!We are local. Dont upset local people. Especially those that frequent your restaurant. Its a long winter. The place tonight was almost dead.
Can't fault the food ... very nice, six of my family dined there tonight, first time I'd met my son's 19yr old girlfriend and they wouldn't serve her a vodka and lemonade , very embarrassing for us both .... so thanks for that.
By far the best meal we had on a recent visit to the island, The Duck is a small and very cost restaurant which offered a fabulous crab and scallop linguine for my main, and a delicious salmon for my wife's. Service was unfussy and welcoming, and as an end to our break we couldn't have asked for a better meal. Will definitely be planning a return visit
